"The Bostwick"

This Greek Revival period home was designed and built to blend into a surrounding historic district in Norwich, Ct. It won the 2011 Home Building Industry (HOBI) Award for "Best Old/New Home."

The original 1950s home -- lost to fire caused by lightening in early 2010 -- was part of a pre-zoned in-fill cul de sac containing three homes embedded within the historic district. The design challenge was to replace the burned structure with a period style home within the neighborhood of mostly 18th and 19th century homes in Victorian, Italianate, Greek Revival, and Early American Colonial architectures.

The resulting new home is a two-story, 3,270 square foot Greek Revival design -- "The Bostwick" -- and it includes 650 sq. ft. of bonus space above an oversize two-car garage.
